La mia mamma ha avuto una vita molto dura e difficile in Moldavia, come tante altre donne.
Da molti anni è rimasta sola, essendo mio papà morto quando avevo 10 anni (ora né ho 36). Siamo state lontane per qualche tempo perché sono venuta in Italia per guadagnare qualche soldo per me e aggiungere qualcosa alla sua pensione di 70 euro al mese, pochissimo anche per la Moldavia, dopo aver lavorato per 37 anni in ospedale come ostetrica ed aver aiutato molte persone, spesso gratuitamente, anche da casa.
I medici moldavi studiano tanto, ma le strutture e i macchinari sono quelli di un paese in grande difficoltà economica e sociale e quando mamma ha avuto dolori al seno, circa 8 mesi fa, le hanno detto che dalle analisi non c’era nulla di allarmante. Hanno escluso la presenza di un cancro, dicendo che era una mastite e proposto impacchi di verza e miele come cura antinfiammatoria.
Essendo continuati i dolori, ho deciso di farla venire in Italia per dei controlli più approfonditi e le mie paure si sono purtroppo rivelate concrete: mamma aveva un tumore maligno al seno, molto aggressivo con necessità di interventi urgenti per estirpare il male e salvarle la vita.
Ad oggi, abbiamo già affrontato 2 interventi a pagamento perché impossibile riuscire a farla rientrare in un percorso terapeutico pubblico, in assenza del permesso di soggiorno ed avendo io un reddito troppo basso per poterla prendere a mio carico.
Ci attende ora un nuovo intervento chirurgico per eliminare tutti i linfonodi, purtroppo gia' malati e successivi trattamenti radiologici e chemioterapici per evitare che le metastasi invadono altre parti del corpo.
Il costo aumenterà così di tanto. I medici che abbiamo consultato e che potrebbero eseguire le cure, mi hanno detto che saranno necessari non meno di 50.000 euro. Impossibile per me mettere insieme una somma così importante e il tempo per intervenire prima del disastro totale è estremamente limitato.
Ho davvero tanta paura di perderla …

My mom had a very hard and difficult life in Moldova, like so many other women.
For many years she has been alone, being my father dead when I was 10 (now or 36). We have been away for some time because I came to Italy to earn some money for myself and add something to his pension of 70 euros a month, very little for Moldova, after having worked in the hospital for 37 years as a midwife and helping many people , often for free, even from home.
The Moldovan doctors study a lot, but the structures and machinery are those of a country in great economic and social difficulty and when mum had breast pains, about 8 months ago, they told her that from the analysis there was nothing alarming. They excluded the presence of a cancer, saying that it was a mastitis and proposed cabbage and honey wraps as an anti-inflammatory treatment.
Having continued the pains, I decided to have her come to Italy for more in-depth checks and my fears unfortunately turned out to be concrete: Mum had a malignant breast tumor, very aggressive with the need for urgent interventions to eradicate the disease and save her life .
We have already dealt with 2 paid interventions because it is impossible to get her back into a public treatment path, in the absence of a residence permit and because I have too little income to be able to take her on my behalf.
A new surgical procedure is now required to eliminate all lymph nodes and subsequent radiological and chemotherapeutic treatments to prevent the metastases from invading other parts of the body.
The cost will increase so much. The doctors we consulted and who could perform the treatments told me that they will need no less than 50,000 euros. It is impossible for me to put together such an important sum and the time to intervene before the total disaster is extremely limited.
I'm really afraid of losing her...
