Make your dishes come true!

WHAT IS THE ONLY THING You love to do that much, to invest in all your creativity, energy, knowledge and free time out of your working hours?
Many people are seeking for their real passion for decades and unfortunately, some of us won't even find it in a lifetime.
I feel lucky I know mine, but found it through challenging times.

The only well-known part of living abroad is better opportunities and living conditions. But no one told me how isolated I'll be with this new life. I've ended up with a lot of free time but there was nobody to share these moments with. I've turned this unfortunate situation I've found myself in into a new passion: started blogging about my cooking and baking process, sharing my recipes, 'made my dishes come true'.

The Holy Whisk Blog will celebrate its second birthday at Christmas 2018, and I cannot be more grateful for the foodie and photographer friends the last years gifted me with. I'm a part of a supportive and inspiring community, which helps me to do not feel lonely anymore and at the same time, I've found the activity I've always looked after and that suits me the best.

This year I've invested in my first DSLR camera and took part in a Food Photography and Styling course in London. The visible changes in my style and on my images opened my eyes: I need to educate myself, learn from professionals and invest in some basic gear to achieve the desired result on my photos. I found my niche in capturing motions, like this:

My recipes and photos have been published in the UK's top baking magazine and a private supper club magazine too, which I consider as positive feedbacks. These opportunities and the support of the blog's community are both encouraging me to keep up investing my time and creativity into this complex project.

I know this sounds great, but...
WHY AM I HERE?

The blogging and food photography are not my full-time jobs.
I'm working in a warehouse at night, 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. In the morning, before I go to work and after I come home at midnight I spend the majority of my free time with self-education, photography, prop-designing, cooking, writing, and website development. For working adults, it's always challenging to find the possibilities for education. But as a creative person, I feel gifted to know at least, what is the only thing I'd like to spend my entire life with.

The key formula for my happiness is simple: FOOD + PHOTOGRAPHY = HAPPINESS

My final goal is: On a day I would like to call food photography my profession and what is even more important, I'd like to help beginners by private coaching sessions to shorten their self-learning curve by sharing all my knowledge and practical tips I've learned by myself in the last 2 years.

Until now I've avoided to ask for help and to be honest, I do not like the idea of relying on anyone's financial support. This is why I feel a bit embarrassed to even ask the help of my family, friends and basically anyone, who feels I create something unique in the food photography and styling world.

To fund my goals I've used our family savings, which of course has a limit. If I keep continuing to save the money for funding my goals, the phase I can invest in my education and set up the possibilities for private coaching would be extremely slow, which means it would take multiple years to set up my basic home studio and develop my food photography and styling skills.

I invite You to visit my portfolio and make a decision yourself if I should keep continuing to believe in my future as a food photographer and creative educator. If your answer is YES, please consider supporting my dream.

These are the first few goals I'd like to achieve:

✅ DONE! Purchase a Godox HSS speedlight  with a softbox  to be able to capture fast motions very crisp with this reliable light source. At the moment my possibilities are so limited, I use a cheap continuous light, so I have to give up the quality of the images for the desired result.

DONE! Take part in Joanie Simon’s Flash for food Photography course
https://thebiteshot.mykajabi.com/p/flash-for-food-photography

NEXT: Take part in Rachel Korinek's (TwoLovesStudio) 3 months long Food Photography Pro MasterClass  about the business side of food photography in 2019.

Thank you very much for visiting my page and took Your time to read my story, and I cannot be grateful enough for Your support.
