Make it Happen for Maureen
Donation protected
Maureen Lopez is a phenomenal women. She has spent her life taking care of others, selflessly giving her time, talents and love. Maureen has been a nurse for over 30 years serving in the US Navy, working at the San Antonio Eye Bank, working 18 years as a school nurse and also as a hospice nurse. She has touched the lives of so many people with her abundant kindness and sweet spirit. She knows no strangers.
Maureen has no biological children but she does have a genuine "mother's heart." She has been mothering family and friends all of her life. The students who were blessed to have her as their school nurse were nutured by her physically and emotionally. She has kept in touch with many of the children and their families over the years. Colleagues and coworkers have always found a listening ear, helpful hands and a shoulder to cry on in Maureen.
Maureen is now in a season of life where she needs to receive the same kindness, care and love that she so generously has given. She has courageously been battling ovarian cancer and is now at home in hospice care. Recently it became obvious that she needs care 24/7 and a health care provider has been brought into the home to do just that. Unfortunately, this type of care is expensive and adds up very quickly.
Now, if you know Maureen at all, you know she would be the first one to help someone in need. So today we ask that you honor Maureen with a donation of any size that would directly go to her care and allow her the dignity and peace that she so honestly deserves.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have
kept the faith: From now on there is laid up for me a crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give
me at that day; and not to me only, but to all them also that
love his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:7-8
