Candace Ganger is a very special friend of mine. While we have never called each other best friends and we don't talk as often as we should - she is a very, very special person in my life. She was there for me in a time of my life when I needed someone to count on a smile from and cheer me up. She was there in one of my hardest points. Now, she needs that in her life.
My husband and I have been praying about how to make a difference in someone's life this holiday season - something other than the traditional Angel Tree or Operation Christmas Child (while these two things are great - we have both felt a calling to something different and have been praying for God to reveal it). This may not offer a chance to go shopping but this is an incredible opportunity to bless someone's life in more ways than you can imagine. She has been brave enough to ask for help and when I read her post - The Lord said - this is what you have been praying about. Please take action. If you can help in any dollar amount - please do - mental illness isn't addressed enough and other health problems present their own list of obstacles.

Hello, friends and family. I have an embarrassing, humbling, and urgent request. As you know, the last few weeks have been incredibly difficult. Or, maybe you haven't heard and that's okay, too. But, I'm alive and once again asking for help. I've been presented with a form of intensive, dedicated therapy that has a high price point, out of pocket. $1500 high just to schedule and the remaining due at the time of service. It's Christmas time, and aside from that, more things have happened that require me to have surgery in the next couple weeks on top of this (which my insurance may not fully cover, putting me deeper into things). I prefer not to disclose the details and I'm still processing so so much right now. Like, more than one person should, to be honest. This all sucks, but if you have it in your heart to sponsor me in any way, to give any dollar amount to help me get this therapy, I can repay you through each paycheck once my hours are back to what they were. I've missed a lot of work throughout all of this. And a personal note, I could use any prayers you may have on top of that. If this is something you're interested in helping with, please message me. And if not, it's okay. I'm literally at the lowest point in my entire life, trying to climb back up.
