Magic Mike's Recovery (Loss Of Eye)

My uncle, Magic Mike, of Gainesville, FL was receiving ongoing treatments for diabetes that led to a sudden and severe infection in his right eye, resulting in his eye being surgically removed.

Mike is a well-loved, self-employed entertainer, magician, balloon-artist and juggler. He provides entertainment at several area restaurants as well as other events in the community. He performs for schools, libraries, fairs, and parties! He even performed at my wedding! :)
.
I know that his life is changing suddenly and drastically and he will have quite a few hardships during healing, recovering, and adjusting to this change. He will need to be extra cautious regarding his remaining eye, too.
.
I know he will need our help with his cost of living while out of work for several weeks, as well as with his substantial medical bills (not covered by insurance) and possibly Occupational Therapy as he becomes rehabilitated... learning to drive, to complete ordinary tasks and to perform again with this change in sight.

Growing up, I LOVED spending time with my uncle Mike and even being his mini “assistant” at several of his events and restaurants. I have always looked up to him as a fun and positive role model and I know that he has that same impact on his community in Gainesville.

I hope that his community of friends, family, and supporters can come together and help him take the time to heal properly and then get back to doing what he loves!
