In 2016, Noel and Marilu will embark on a journey through Africa, combining our love of travel with volunteering.
We would like to raise $30,000 to support carefully selected charities that we will be working with during our overland adventure through southern and eastern Africa.
Our Land Rover named Maggie will transport across at least 15 countries, from Botswana to Ethiopia, where people face numerous challenges.
Your support will allow us to give back to the communities we visit!
We would like to work with and donate to at least one charity in each country that we visit during our trip.
Examples of charities that we have / will support:
Stepping Stones International Botswana: an NGO based in Mochudi, Botswana that supports orphans and vulnerable children.
Mammadu children's shelter Namibia: an NGO that supports vulnerable children in Otjomuise, Namibia.
Women against Rape Botswana: an NGO that support victims of gender based violence in Maun, Botswana.
Project Luangwa Zambia: an NGO based in Mfuwe with projects in education, women's and girls' empowerment and responsible tourism.
We will update our blog (www.maggieinafrica.com) and our GoFundMe page with details of each of the charities that we meet and donate to along the way.
All proceeds raised through GoFundMe go directly to registered charities, and no funds are used on our travelling expenses. If you need your donation to be tax-deductible in the US, UK or other country, give us a shout and we will do our best to arrange! Thank you for your support!
