Stolen Equipment from Mad Lib Fest

In fifteen minutes, everything we worked all year to achieve was taken from us...



Our blood, sweat and tears went into this event for three years. We almost weren't able to put a show on this year, but we dug deep into our own pockets to pull out the experience of a lifetime for our community - it truly was Mad Liberation.

 This event is a melting pot of music; bringing diverse cultures and backgrounds together on a beautiful lake-front setting for a weekend that allows people to really let go and be themselves.



Anyone who attended this year will tell you that Friday and Saturday were unforgettable...

However, on Sunday morning, when we started to pack up and head home, we noticed that some equipment was missing. The window of opportunity for someone to steal it was tight, but fifteen minutes was all they needed to destroy the uplifting vibe of the entire weekend. While most attendees had no idea of the missing equipment, the organizers and our team were effortlessly trying to find what we had lost. Unfortunately, these criminals got away with more than $11,000 worth of equipment. 

And just like that, something we worked all year, which we personally fund from our own pockets, was robbed from us.

All we want to do is put this incident behind us so that we can focus on making this experience happen in 2019...

Update: 
Guitar Center's store management team has helped us so much by being understanding and working with us in a difficult time. The have cut our fees by $1,470 and gave us a couple weeks grace-period to pay for the equipment. We have now paid in full for this equipment and avoided any collections fees and legal fees thanks with the help of Guitar Center. We are blessed for this because it brings us closer to our goal!
