Mack's Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
On 2/2/17 our sweet baby, Mack, a 3 year old Boxer/American Bulldog was diagnosed with lymphoma. It's a struggle for me to even type this right now. The reality of this nightmare is still hitting me. For two weeks we went back and forth to the vet trying to figure out what was going on. It started with him drinking excessive water and urinating in the house. We did a urinalysis test thinking it was a kidney infection, but it came back normal. Mack then started vomiting and losing his interest in food. The decrease in appetite was very alarming because my baby sure loves to eat. We took him back to the vet for a blood test. This time they noticed his kidney enzymes were a little higher than normal, but were unsure why. We were given some renal support food to try out for 3 days to see if that helped him improve. 3 days later we did another blood test and found out that his blood calcium levels were pretty high. At this point, the vet thought we should go to a specialist to get an ultrasound for Mack to get to the bottom of this. We gave him an IV because he was dehydrated and scheduled the first available appointment at the Animal Specialty & Emergency Hospital with Dr. Smith. In just 2 days of waiting for our appointment, Mack had begun having episodes of trembling and had stopping eating altogether. He lost nearly 10 pounds and it was a struggle to get him to drink water. When I took him to his appointment, cancer was still not on my radar. I still had it in my head that he had a kidney disease or something with an easy fix. I can't tell you how devastated and broken we were when the doctor said he found a cancerous tumor in his abdomen. The doctor was going to perform a chest x-ray to see if the cancer has spread to more parts of his body (we are currently waiting to hear the results of this test and which type of lymphoma Mack has to determine the best approach of chemo treatment). I'm going to fight with my puppy boy with everything I've got, but I really need help. Any amount of donation towards his chemotherapy treatments helps tremendously. I can't lose my dog. He's my best friend and I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't come home to him every day and spoil him with love. He's my world. Dr. Smith believes Mack has an 80% chance of remission and that's a percentage I can work with. Thank you all for taking the time to read Mack's story. Even if you can't donate, please take the time to share Mack's gofundme because one of the biggest ways to help is by spreading this to as many people in hopes of reaching our goal.
