CRHS STEM Space Project

Donation protected
In August of 2014, the Caesar Rodney High School (CRHS) Science Department submitted a proposal to the Student SpaceFlight Experiments Program (SSEP) to be the first high school in Delaware to send a student designed science experiment to the International Space Station (ISS).  The SSEP project has allowed students in Rider Country to engage in “real world science” by designing an experiment proposal that meets NASA’s safety and research procedure protocols to be a viable experiment on the International Space Station.  Over 1,000 students at CRHS have been involved with the experiment design, proposal, and lesson study to make this dream a reality.

Flying to space is not cheap. $30,000 in local community funding is needed for this project. The funds will provide CRHS with a mini-laboratory on the ISS to support its winning experiment, all required NASA launch services, and the capability to return the capsule safety to Earth for data harvesting and analysis with future CR students.

Please help our students accomplish this ambitious program and inspire and engage the next generation of scientists and engineers.

The Student Space Flight Experiments Program (http://ssep.ncesse.org) is undertaken by the Nation Center for Earth and Space Science Education (NCESSE; http://ncesse.org) in partnership with Nanoracks, LLC.

This on-orbit educational research opportunity is enabled through NanoRacks, LLC, which is working in partnership with NASA under a Space Act Agreement as part of the utilization of International Space Station as a National Laboratory.”
