 MEDINA, OH
My name is Ray Petro.  Myself and some friends started Rays Indoor Mountain Bike Park in 2004. I now live in Medina and have adopted the care and construction of the Medina Trails as my own little pet project. I am volunteering my time and skills to construct a world class "Mountain Bike Skills Park" similar to the indoor model I have developed over the past 12 years.

The skills park is designed to be an awesome experience for children to play on, adults to learn new skills and experienced riders to warm before they hit the trails.

The City of Medina has approved the project and cleared the land. We now need money for wood and bolts to start the project around April 5, 2016. I hope to have it complete in 30 days so we can enjoy it this summer.

I will be leading the project and welcoming any volunteers who would like to help. Updates on times will be on the Medina Trails Facebook page. Most work times will be after 4pm weekdays and all day on weekends. Any extra funds will get rolled into the project.

PLEASE SHARE THIS ON FACEBOOK.

Please help build or donate to the first ever public "Mountain Bike Skills Park" in Ohio!

The park will have similar berms, skinnies like these I built in Florida.

The park will have small jumps to learn on.

Thanks again to everyone who donated to this project. It's been completed and Keith Durham the financial director for the city of Medina will be withdrawing the funds. We have a few hundred dollars left over that we will be using towards a few small projects. Thanks again everyone!

Hello everyone, heres an update on the skills park.

Things haven't gone a fast as I would have liked. The weather, equipment problems, lots of mud and now I'm back to working at Rays full time has slowed things down. Now that the ground has pretty much dried out and I am settled back in to a work routine, progress is right round the corner.

I had hoped to make more progress this weekend and it started raining again. I'm thinking I might just take a week off work and knock it out. Hopefully in the next few weeks, I'll have it completed. Thanks again for all the donations, it will be awesome!
