Matt's London to Paris Cycle

Just over 12 months ago, I decided that I needed to challenge myself to raise money for a good cause as part of hitting my 30th birthday in March 2015.
After suffering with high blood pressure and a constant battle with being overweight, I made the decision that something proactive needed to be done to ensure that this would help to deal with both of these issues.
In the early stages of my training, and after learning of how precious life is, the decision was made to raise money in memory and thanksgiving of my younger brother’s friend, Daniel Collins. Daniel died in 2014 after a cry for help went tragically wrong. He was only 22 years old. With the permission of Dan's father I will be raising money for 2 charities.
The first charity is the Samaritans of Dorset at Weymouth and the second charity is `The Project` which is a peer support network offering help to young people with mental health issues in East Devon and West Dorset.
Both charities are aware that I will be raising money for them.
12 months after setting myself this challenge, I can report that training has been progressing well and I can announce that I am at least 4 stone lighter!
For me, this has been something that I have grown to enjoy and I now feel this has rewarded me in more ways than I can explain. The more training I have been doing, the less daunted I have felt about doing the 300 mile trip from London to Paris over 4 days!
The trip is due to start on Wednesday 8 July and I will be arriving in Paris on Saturday 11 July 2015, and all footage should be recorded with my GoPro.
The trip and all the associated costs will be covered by me personally and all money raised will be donated to the charities themselves once the challenge has been completed.
All donations will be gratefully received, and I thank you in advance for them.
