PLEASE HELP SAVE "JILLY" THE SALTWATER CROCODILE !!
Hi There, my name is Vicki Lowing and I am in urgent need of financial help to complete the building of a large enclosure for my beloved "pet" saltwater crocodile, "Jilly".
"Jilly" joined my family of pets (mainly reptiles, including freshwater crocodiles) when I adopted her eight years ago (as a 2 year old crocodile) at the request of her original owner who was unable to continue caring for her. As with all my pets, I soon fell in love with "Jilly" and now consider her as part of my family.

Unlike my pet freshwater crocodiles (which are a much smaller species than the saltwater crocodiles), "Jilly" has naturally grown to quite a large size since I've had her and has thus outgrown her current enclosure. Consequently, she requires a larger enclosure to now accommodate her larger size.

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances which resulted in my retirement on a pension a few years ago, I am now really struggling financially and haven't the funds to cover the costs of completing the building of "Jilly's" new enclosure, after purchasing building materials and concreting etc, and have now exhausted all of my funds.
I love my pets with a passion and have worked and dedicated my life in caring for them, as if they were my own children.
The reality of my situation with "Jilly" is, I will lose her, due to not meeting the department of wildlife's standard regulations for housing a crocodile of "Jilly's" size if I don't have her new enclosure completed immediately.
"Jilly" is very special and the only saltwater crocodile in the world who has responded appropriately (i.e with non-aggressive behaviour) to the gentle loving care I have shown her.
As "Jilly" was raised in captivity, she wouln't survive in the wild and nor do I believe she would adapt to living with other crocodiles in a crocodile farm or park and would either fret and die or be killed by other crocodiles.
I am therefore imploring you, on "Jilly's" behalf, to please help us build her a new home !

I've been a passionate animal/wildlife lover all my life, with a particular interest in reptiles which I've been keeping as pets since 4 years of age. At the early age of 6 years, I also developed a curious interest in crocodiles which grew tremendously after I acquired my first "pet" saltwater crocodile in 1979. At the time, very little was known about crocodiles in general, let alone on how to care for one in captivity. Consequently, living with "Rocky" was a learning experience in itself and my initial knowledge of crocodilian behaviour was thus gained through constant observation of him, combined with common sense. The more I observed him and his behaviours, the more fascinated and passionate I became in learning about crocodiles.
I've been keeping crocodiles as pets for a total of nearly 30 years now and have gained a wealth of knowledge about them over these years which I also enjoy sharing with the public whilst performing my wildlife demonstrations, in which I promote the awareness and understanding of the conservation and ecology of wildlife.
I have also spent much of my life as a dedicated voluntary wildlife carer, rescuing, fostering and rehabilitating sick and injured wildlife for re-release back to the wild.
