Hi everyone!
I would like to take this opportunity to humbly ask for your assistance to raise funds for the medical expenses of my mother, Luzette.
Meet my mom. She is such a wonderful person! No words can explain how much we love her. We would all love to see her smile like this again! :)
Last March, she was diagnosed to have Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma, a type of cancer that affects the cells of the body which fight infection. A mass was found on her spine and a surgery was done to remove a part of the mass to decrease the pressure on her spinal cord which causes her to be in so much pain, making her unable to walk. Six screws were also placed on her spine to prevent a collapse because of the damage caused by the mass. She has already completed 8 cycles of the first set of Chemotherapy drugs (R-CHOP) which was administered every 3 weeks. My mother showed great progress after the chemo. She was able to do her daily activities independently as if everything was already normal.

Unfortunately, last October, she had a cranial MRI which showed a mass in her brain.
When I saw her MRI, I immediately booked a flight back to the Philippines so I can take care of my mom.
She has started chemotherapy again, with high dose Methotrexate last November 3. This specific medication will target the cancer cells in her brain. Her chemo sessions will be done in PGH so as not to have very high hospital bills because the two Chemotherapy drugs alone, Methotrexate and Rituximab, cost Php 182,000 per session. These two drugs must be given every 2 weeks. We are in need of more than Php 500,000 every month to cover all her medical expenses, including the chemo drugs, hospital bills, professional fees of the doctors, MRI’s, PET CT scans (Php 73,571.20 - monthly), medical supplies and the other maintenance medications she is taking.
We have been asking help from relatives, friends, and government agencies, such as PCSO, DOH, and government offices because of the continuous expenses for her treatments.
I know that this will be a long shot because of the amount that is needed for each session, but as a daughter, I want to be able to do everything for my mother. She only has one life and this is the only chance we have to let her live longer. As nurses, my sister and I have taken care of thousands of patients that we do not even know. This time, we need to take care of the most important patient that we will be having in our lives. We will not stop just because we lack funds. We will try to find all the means that we can to be able to pay for her medical expenses. We are really hoping that you can help us give our mom a chance to have a longer and meaningful life, and eventually win this tough battle. She is a very kind, loving and selfless mother. We cannot just give up on her. We really do hope she receives the needed treatments to have continuous good progress and be Cancer free!
My mother has been very positive that God will heal her. She is a fighter. She never gives up. She keeps on praying everyday for God’s healing. She is a strong woman, holding on to her faith that God is with her and that this is just a trial which we will overcome.
We all believe that MIRACLES HAPPEN EVERYDAY and that EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE WITH GOD. Let us all claim that GOD WILL HEAL HER!

UPDATE:
After finishing 2 cycles of the new Chemotherapy drugs, my mom had an MRI. You can clearly see that the size of the mass has decreased already. This means that she is responding to the high dose Methotrexate treatment. We just need to continue to have this every 2 weeks until there are no more lesions seen on the scan.
After that, she will have the Chemotherapy once a month for 6 months.
This is the reason why we are raising a big amount. The treatment needs to be continuous. It is really expensive.
But I know, after we have completed the treatment, mommy will be healed.
