Dental Surgery- Sister Senior Dogs

Donation protected
Hi there! My name is Meghan Traynor.  No, not that one. Not the bass-loving bubblegum pop star one. I'm the 30 year old small town NJ-button-making on Etsy one. But I did have bubblegum one time. So we have that in common. So I guess we're basically the same...

Except for one small thing. Well, 2 small things. I am the proud, over-the-top, obsessive, doting, nauseating owner (read: Mom) to 2 Chihuahua sisters--Lupe (she's the black and white short hair one) and Bonita (the white fluffy one!). They're techinically half sisters, having shared the same teeny tiny yet robustly virile father. But seeing as they share the same Mom now (read: owner), I'd say that makes them full on sisters.

My family's life was changed forever 11 years ago when we found them living on a farm together in Oklahoma. Just puppies then and no bigger than soda cans, we knew immediately that they were meant to join our family. They flew to New Jersey together--both of them fitting comfortably in one small cat carrier. The love we felt for them was immediate and overwhelming. More than that, it was necessary. My family had just come through a number of sea changes--serious illness, new disability, loss of income, the passing away of a Matriarch. To say Lupe and Bonita healed us would be an understatement.

These past 11 years have seen many more great challenges. There have been changes to both my health (I have Osteogenesis Imperfecta and was recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia) and my dogs' which puts me where I am today. Reaching out to you! Both dogs are in dire need of dental surgery, but Lupe is also due to have an enlarged lymph node removed and biopsied. The quality of their teeth is begining to negatively effect their health in various way and the vet fears it could lead to much larger problems if not dealt with quickly.

The costs for both dogs to have surgery are beyond what I can afford. I can't help but feel I'm letting my dogs down given the literally boundless amount of joy they've given. To receive your donation would change not just their lives but my family's too. But I guess that's one and the same.

When I'm not home, I wonder how they're doing. When I get home, I want to see them right away. I tuck them in at night and kiss them in the morning. They get massages in the afternoon and special treats for taking their medicine. If I can find a sunny patch on my floor, I move their beds so they can soak in it. If it's storming, I console them like babies. If they aren't well, I'm not well. If they tinkle on the rug they get punished with hugs and sing-songey rhymes about why they were naughty. On movie nights, they get special un-buttered popcorn--grill nights: the world's tiniest beef patty. I love my dogs. I mean I really love my dogs.

I recently read a quote-- "Be the person your dog thinks you are." Please help me be that person! Please help me make my dogs well again!

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you forever. Thank you.
