A Server For Lunaescence

The Project:

Lunaescence is a moderated creative writing community founded in 2003.

For over a decade, Lunaescence has been a beloved staple in the writing community, becoming a safe haven for writers and a place where readers can enjoy quality fan fiction, poetry and original works.

As Lunaescence's popularity has grown, so have the site's expenses. One of the biggest threats to Lunaescence's existence are hosting costs.

As a nonprofit website, Lunaescence has few means of generating revenue. Often, Lunaescence's hosting bills fall solely on the site administrator to pay and the financial burden of paying for Lunaescence's operating costs have nearly resulted in a previous shut down.

Just like you, we want Lunaescence to be around forever. Paying monthly hosting fees for the site isn't substantiable, and will likely result in the site shutting down in the future.

So after much consideration, we've come to a solution: purchasing a server for Lunaescence, as opposed to paying for monthly hosting.

Purchasing a server will allow us to cut inflated monthly hosting expenses.

Essentially, purchasing a server outright means the site will always have a place to stay, insuring that it has a long future  without the threat of a shut down.

Due to the Lunaescence's size, the site requires a server of a certain size and specification.

The cost is difficult for us to support alone, which is why we graciously ask the community to help us raise enough money to purchase a server to move the site to.
