Orphans of Hope

In late September, Lucy & Ben will be visiting an orphanage & school located in a remote village 4 hours north west of Uganda's capital, Kampala. The humble organisation became known to them a few years ago when a friend of theirs began working with them. Back then, basic needs of water, food, clothing, shelter and education were seriously lacking.

Since then, the organisation has received constructive growth; the renovation and errection of new buildings, the installation of a water tank and solar panel, a veggie garden now provides some food, and a functional website spreads the word . In turn, this progress has generated more interest from volunteers and donors, and the organisation is currently in the process of registering as an official NGO Orphanage. 

There is still a lot of money and work that needs to go toward providing healthier living conditions and a better education for the Orphans and local kids who also attend the school. Ben & Lucy want to raise money to for atleast one computer for the purpose of connecting students with greater information resources and online learning activities. This will also require another solar system to provide power for chagers. Lucy will be teaching photography to the kids as a form of creative therapy, the cameras will be donated and the photos used to promote the organisation.
