This summer I will have the opportunity to travel to Laos with LRTT (Limited Resource Teacher Training), a global education social enterprise set up by teachers, for teachers.
Vision: to get every child in every classroom learning.
Mission: to empower teachers to provide quality education, are built upon three core beliefs.
While in Laos I will work alongside teachers from a different cultures and develop a new level of global educational awareness. To do this, I will learn about what life is like for them, as well as their students, as they support their learning journey and prepare young lives for the changing world.
Research shows that of all interventions, pedagogical training has one of the biggest effects on student learning, outweighing the effects new textbooks, computers, smaller classes, infrastructure inputs can have on learning.
To support the facilitation of quality education, I will provide professional learning for teachers through training, coaching and workshops. This will support teachers in low resource environments, as a lack of teacher development is the principle barrier to effectiveness.
Good teaching is the key to quality education, but millions of teachers don’t get the training and support they need to make quality education a reality in their classrooms.
