Loving Lennox

Lennox is a sweet, charismatic third grader from East North Street Academy in Greenville, South Carolina.  On June 8, Lennox suffered from a severe seizure and was rushed to the emergency room. After consultation and conversation with physicians in other parts of the country, and after looking at the MRI of his brain, the diagnosis appears to be ALD.   Adrenoleukodystrophy, or ALD, is a deadly genetic disease that affects 1 in 18,000 people. It most severely affects boys and men. This brain disorder destroys myelin, the protective sheath that surrounds the brain's neurons -- the nerve cells that allow us to think and to control our muscles.  The website is www.stopald.org if you want to understand more about what Lennox will be facing.
