Loving Carly, Fighting Cancer

Donation protected
In May of 2018, our friend Carly Walker suddenly lost the ability to speak coherently or form complete sentences and was experiencing numbness on the right side of her body. Her family rushed to the ER where they waited through an MRI and several visits with doctors. Tests revealed a brain tumor the size of a ping pong ball in the area of her brain which controls language processing and sensitivity on the right side of the body.

On May 30th, Carly underwent surgery and the tumor was removed successfully. At a follow-up appointment with the neurosurgeon, they were told that the tumor is worse than originally thought and that Carly has brain cancer that will need further treatment.

Carly is starting radiation and chemotherapy treatment at MD Anderson in Houston in July, and the treatment is expected to last 12 months. At this time, there is no cure for this cancer and the statistics of re-occurrence are unfavorable. There is much hope in the research and advancements that are being done at MD Anderson.

Nobody knows what the future holds. We do know that Carly is a wonderful friend, loving mother, woman of God - and a fighter. She and Kaleb have built a beautiful family and view each day as a gift. The purpose of this fund is to help in Carly's fight so that she and her family can focus on healing and the good parts of life.
