Murder victim’s mom asks public to speak up 

My 22 year old son James Mitchell was a student at Bryant & Stratton College, studying for a degree in Criminal Justice. He was looking forward to a bright future until one evening, while walking to the corner store in a friend's neighborhood, he was shot and killed by an unknown person (s)

Mother still looks for answers 

The news shattered my heart and still affects me today, knowing that I will never see my son on this side of heaven again. My fear is that the person (s) responsible will never be brought to justice. I believe this is due to  the community being uncooperative with very important information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of my son's and other families killers.

My prayer is to take what has been one of the most painful moments in my life and turn it around to help other families who can relate to what I have and  currently go through, by establishing the organization called Love Is Loud.


My ultimate goal is to bring our communities together to fight against crime and  the silence in our inner city and surrounding areas. This is where I need your support.

The reason it has taken over a month to get this all together is because on top of being a married, working mother, I have also created a website called www.loveisloud.net

I need to trademark the name Love is Loud. I will need business cards and flyers and a place for meetings for our community to come together to pass out these flyers, business cards and also reach out to the community to show that we do care.

I will need volunteers at least twice a month to go out with me to spread the word and to gain the trust of our neighbors and communities.

This is not a gimmick or trick to try to get money for personal gain. It is a cry for help from a mother who wants to make a difference in our community, in the loving memory of my son. I cry now as I type these words because my heart is broken and I would hate for another family to go through what I am going through.

If my son's killer(s) are never found, at least I can help another family by offering my help to bring these murderers to justice.

There are numerous ways that you can help . You may refer a family who you know this could help. You can volunteer to be a part of a team who will work in our communities to speak out against this violence and instead of being afraid, make these evil people afraid to kill or kill again. We must start somewhere and I need your help to start here.

Please find it in your heart to give your money or time to help Love Is Loud to speak out, because when you love someone, you can't just sit there and be silent. It may not be your friend or loved one now, but I also pray that you will never have to experience the loss that I and my family have.
