So... this is incredible! I am so excited! You all are amazing. So amazing!!

So first off, little Damascus is not a boy, she's a girl :) On Friday of last week I posted on FB "Love it when phones work where they usually don't so that 2 great friends can have a long, fabulous chat!! Maybe it's a sign that this week things that usually don't work, will!" A few hours after I said that I looked at my news feed and a little Appaloosa horse showed up from a site I don't follow and don't really like, but I knew I couldn't sleep at night without doing some thing for this horse. I loved the horse instantly. At that moment I posted my original call for help.

So now it's two days later. Here's what I know, and sadly, I haven't met her yet: She's a girl, young, age probably in the 4 - 8 months old range. She has tumors of some kind, we don't know if they are cancerous or not. She may have any sort of diseases, upper respiratory infection, strangles, and/or pneumonia, but vets are rarely alllowed on feedlots. So even though she's very sick, she is kept with other horses where injury and illness runs rampant, with NO veterinary care.

The reason for this, is that she has landed at a place where unwanted, disgarded horses land, at a feedlot owned by a kill buyer. In a typical feedlot, horses are held in crowded pens, with little food and zero medical attention. Most are old, young, sick, or wild. Some are so sick that they die in the lot, without care. Some die after they leave the lot. Some should have already been euthanized. For the ones that don't get "bail" (the kill buyer takes the price he could get for slaughtering the horse and raises it much higher, this is bail) they get picked up by drivers that take horses to Mexico or Canada for slaughter. This means sick, broken horses are transported thousands of miles in an overcrowded trailer with slaughterhouse as their destination.

I'll write again soon! THANK YOU ALL!!

FAMILY & FRIENDS!!! Help me help this little guy!!! Please share!
What a beautiful sad boy. So young! I would love to bring him home after a quarantine!!!

I am asking for a lot, but this little dude doesn't deserve to be where he is right now. I saw his picture and knew I had to try to help the little guy or I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight!!!

This is what I am asking:
1. The rest of his bail would need to be paid. I think it's sitting at about $300 right now.
2. He would need quarantine for a month, maybe two. Cost would range between $200-$400/mo. Unless someone would be willing to quarantine him for free.
3. Feed for 3 months would be required at $150/mo.
4. Approximately $800 would be needed for vet care. And that would only be a start!

If I could raise something around $2000 I could bring him home in June. Just putting it out to the universe and seeing what happens.

Please help me start my horse rescue, it has been a dream of mine for 20 years! :)
