My name is Trish Scoular, a Registered Professional Counsellor with a Diploma in Applied Psychology and Counselling. I am the BC President of the Regional Management Team and Marketing Rep for the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association. My speciality is in Community Based Counselling. I also have a Diploma in Broadcast Arts (Radio & TV), Diploma in Hairdressing and Make-up Artist.
My goal is to empower 8 girls, 12 - 17 who are needing strategies for better living. An opportunity to help them grow and succeed! With myself and special guest speakers this will be a great learning opportunity and life changing experience.
****** According to a 2013 State of the Child report by First Call. There are more than 6 percent of children under the age of 15, living in a family that received income assistance in Nanaimo - Ladysmith in 2011. The purpose of fundraising is to be able to give girls affordability to take a course like this one, whose families are limited financially. The kids are our future, we need to invest in their lives. MORE funds raised, will give more girls the opportunity to participate.
This workshop is called Empowerment Strategies for Young Women 12 - 17 which will run for 2 months in May & June 2016. This course will help identify:
Slaying Dragons: Getting to the Root of Your Beliefs - those inward messages that we feel define who we are, how we value ourselves, where do they originate from, etc... what we call core beliefs.
Draw the Line: Creating Boundaries for Yourself - (healthy & unhealthy), what do they look like, how to set them, how they protect us
Sparkle Your Fashion: Define What Makes You Unique - the messages they can give and what's appropriate, body image, refining your own unique style
Know Your Lingo: Communication Styles that Work - passive, passive-aggressive, aggression, assertive, etc.
Victorious Crusader: Positive Outcomes to Difficult Relationships - peer, family, authority, intimate, boyfriend and girlfriend. The impact they have and how we relate
Spa for One: Loving Self/Care/Respect - learning to love yourself and what that looks like. Techniques for self care.
Courageous Beauties: Finding Your Voice: -cyberbullying, who targets you and why, what a bully looks like, the damaging effects of it, how to protect yourself
Celebrating the Fashion Model in You: Fashion Show & Photo Shoot. A wrap up to 8 weeks of transformation, discovering your inner glow and positive outcomes. The road map to an Inward Journey of Discovery.

This growth minded workshop will launch on May 1st, 2016 and run for 2 months. Your support would mean the world to me, and to these young girls who may not have the financial ability to attend a workshop like this one. My desire is to help, inspire and nurture through positive role modeling.
I will keep you up-to-date with progress reports on the girls that are chosen. Their start to finish transformation!

4. Promotional Material & Advertising
5. Food/Refreshments (healthy)

I would be eternally grateful for those whose heart are with mine. Who are fueled with passion to give and see young ladies lives transformed. With it's success this workshop will become an ongoing opportunity for girls everywhere.
