Love for Jackson Family

On July 4, 2017, our beloved friend, brother, husband and father Derek Jackson left this earth with a joyful heart, a contagious smile and a loving spirit. The hearts of his family mourn his tragic death with one another, yet are together, believing with utter confidence that he went to be with God in Heaven.

Derek spent the holiday weekend surrounded by family and friends on Sisters Lake in Dowagiac, Michigan. Each individual that speaks of their time with him celebrates the joy and light that was within him during this time, he was happy, he was full of energy,  giddy and peaceful. Around 5pm Derek went out on the lake for one last ride. It is reported by witnesses that his motocraft hit a wave and he was killed upon impact. Witnesses rushed to his aid and Derek was airlifted to a hospital in South Bend, Indiana.


Derek, a loving father to Vivian Grace and his soon to be second child (expected in October 2017), a caring companion, best friend, and husband to Madeleine will be forever missed by many. His legacy of love lives on in his growing family and his beautiful spirit is felt by many. 

As many ask of how to come alongside and love through this incredibly heartbreaking time, we believe that as a community we can alleviate the financial burdens and provide for Dereks beautiful growing family in a way every father would desire for their own to be cared for. Your prayers, love, and support are felt.
