Most of the people who we personally will share this page with will know our story; even if not in detail. Quite simply we need money to start our life together. For those who don't know, here's the story...
I, Louise, am a 23 year old British citizen, living in England. My husband of 1 year, Mohamed, is 25, Tunisian, living in Tunisia. We want to live together here in England BUT it just isn't that simple. For Mohamed to get a spouse visa for the UK there are a number of requirements, but the biggest obstacle is my annual salary - I need to earn £18,600 per year - I earn less than £10,000 from my two (and at times three) employers. That's not something that is going to change any time soon, and even with some luck if I found such a well-paid job, I need 6 months of wage slips, plus the couple of thousand pounds needed for the application. It's not going to happen. Our alternative? We can both go and live (and work) in Europe, and after a few months, a few years (whatever we decide/works), we can come back to the UK - no crazy financial requirements or expensive visas. We have both been trying to save to do this, but Mohamed only earns approximately £70 a month, so minus living costs, there's not much left, and I, despite two jobs, end up with very little left as I have debts and bills to pay. We already have around half saved (which is/will continue to be reflected in "offline donations"), but we need approximately £3,000 to be able to go to our chosen destination, Czech Republic. This amount would hopefully cover our flights there, health insurance, deposit for an apartment, 1-2 months rent/bills, grocery/living costs for 1-2 months, plus it will help me continue paying my UK bills, as well as money to translate and prepare documents for residency permits, etc.
I absolutely hate asking for help, especially financially, but I am running out of ideas, I am running out of hope. We have endured three difficult years of long-distance so far, and I really don't want this to go on much longer. I am so tired, stressed, depressed, and all I want is a normal life with my husband. It's not too much to ask is it?
