A Little Love For Charlie!

Dear family and friends,
Charlie has been thrust into a position to battle for his life much quicker than he had ever anticipated. He was having symptoms of severe headaches for a few months leading up to the fateful day of May 22nd when he went into the ER to get things checked out. They opted to run a ct scan. It was nothing short of devastating to have the doctor enter the room and show the scan results with a large unknown mass occupying his head. Charlie and his mom were devastated at the unknown. He remained in the hospital until an MRI could be conducted the next day to give him and his family the answers they needed. After the clarification from the MRI Charlie met with neurosurgeons, doctors and other helpful people who could explain what was going on. They came to the conclusion to have the mass known as an astrocytoma brain tumor removed through surgery. With assurance from some of the best in the world Charlie felt comforted in the plan of action they chose. Through 8 hours of surgery they removed 95% of the tumor allowing Charlie to retain regular motor and cognitive skills. The first couple of days after surgery in the hospital were by far the most difficult to this point. With the help Charlie's loving family, girlfriend,and friends,Charlie managed to make it out of there. Now Charlie's time is spent recovering from surgery at his parents home in comfort. Charlie's goals consist of recovering from surgery,taking on radiation using the proton beam at Mayo Clinic and chemotherapy until the remaining tumor is gone and done with. Daily Charlie is keeping positive, getting stronger mentally,physically,and spiritually. He plans to return to teaching, and regular physical activities ASAP. Charlie has had the best support in the world from family and friends who've been there every step of the way and continue to be since this has come along! We are asking for your help to keep as much stress off of Charlie as we can as he goes through this. We wanted to make this page to help take care of the bills he has while he takes this fight on! Charlie is so giving himself and has always put everyone else first. He is a great teacher,baseball coach and friend! Thanks for all the love and support you give Charlie!
