Medical Transport for Louie Delgado

Donation protected
Our husband, father, son, brother, pastor and friend Louie Delgado passed away on October 23, 2016, after a yearlong battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. One of his last wishes was to come home to San Antonio to be with his family and flock. We fought hard to fulfill that wish and succeeded, with the help of many kind and compassionate strangers.

In addition to funeral and treatment costs, we now have to cover the costs of the medical-transport flight that brought Louie home. We have 9 days to raise $19,650, or else this burden gets passed on to his wife, Yolie. Every penny up to $19,650 will be used to pay for the flight. And anything raised over that amount will be used for funeral or treatment costs.

Louie was known for his generosity, his giving spirit, his true leadership, his absolute and unwavering faith. Those who knew him could not help but love him. You truly didn’t have a choice. One bad groan-inducing joke or pun and then that big broad smile, and you were hooked … Louie became your brother and friend for life.

His faith was strong and led him to be a shining example of how to live one’s life in Christ. The number of lives he affected positively for Christ is countless. His ultimate endeavor was to tell others about the saving grace of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

To say that Louie was generous is not a comment to be taken lightly. He was the true epitome of generosity. Many of us felt the gift of his generosity. Whether he gave you the gift of song, an understanding and unjudging ear, or even the roof over your head or the clothes on your back, his generosity was boundless.

We’re asking you to follow his example. Louie is in the Father’s hands now, but the love and light of his life, his wife, Yolie, is still here and much in need of your help and generosity. Any amount helps. And please, share his story and this donation site.

Let this song be one of Louie's last gifts to you. It was a source of encouragement and inspiration for him when times were tough.
