LOST LAKE CAFE CELEBRATES 3 YEARS OF LOST LAKE CARES BY RAISING MONEY FOR THE CIVIL RIGHTS TOUR OF THE SOUTH

Lost Lake Cafe & Lounge is proud to celebrate the 3rd Anniversary of our Lost Lake Cares program this February! In this monthly fundraising effort, we have raised over $45,000 to help local charities and organizations make a better Seattle. To celebrate, we are putting on our largest fundraiser yet, partnering  with Antioch University in support of their of their Civil Rights Tour of the South for the entire month of February to honor Black History Month!

In Civil Rights Tour of the South, students visit key monuments and museums in Alabama that commemorate leaders and remember brave victims of attacks in the fight for freedom. They visit the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center in Atlanta and listen to former civil rights activists tell their stores. While face to face with the horrors and triumphs of our recent history, they learn strategies to bring together diverse communities and learn nonviolent tactics for expanding our rights. This experience will teach them to defend the people that have already won their freedoms, and to champion for those still fighting for theirs. The tour is led by well known civil rights leader Dr. Bernard LaFayette and is part of a course taught at Antioch by Professor Emeritus and civil rights activist Dr. Mary Lou Finley. Participating Seattle students need to raise $10,000 to participate in this amazing event. Come dine at Lost Lake this February to help us acheive this goal!

In addition to this GoFundMe, we are donating 10% of our sales every Tuesday in February!

Antioch alumna, civil rights pioneer, and the wife of Martin Luther King, Jr. Corvetta Scott King says that "Freedom is not fought and won, you earn it and win it in every generation." We are proud to partner with Antioch and sponsor this experiential learning program in order to continue to work towards a just and sustainable future. We want to continue to build inclusive communities and develop leaders who stand up for all human rights. Lost Lake Cares program is asking our neighbors in Capitol Hill and the rest of Seattle to join us all month long this February in raising funds for these students.

Lost Lake welcomes all local charities to contact [email redacted] to inquire about a partnership with Lost Lake Cares. On the third Tuesday of each month we donate 10% of our sales to a selected organization. Past partners include Community Lunch, Lowell Elementary School, Women's Education Program, Northside Youth After School Dance Program, Seattle Children's Hospital, Planned Parenthood, & The Lambert House. Please visit our website Lostlakecafe.com for more information. You can help us support by dining with us on the third Tuesday of each month!
