Lori LeFavor's Medical Bills

Donation protected
Dear Friends,
Lori LeFavor developed a cough a month ago that she thought was due to the forest fires. She had to drink liquid almost constantly to keep from coughing - but this developed quickly into an excessive thirst, that simply could not be quenched. At the same time, her eyesight began to deteriorate, rapidly. We joked that this was just age - but damn, it was coming on fast! But being Lori, she pushed through...the city is coated in smoke, we're all getting older - what's the big deal? But by Saturday evening she felt so off she actually considered cancelling Babu's Goodbye Sunday BBQ, and going to the hospital. But she carried on, and everyone got to say goodbye to sweet Babu, who has since passed over into the great beyond, running free forevermore in the doggy Valhalla.
Because she didn't have insurance she opted for urgent care the next morning. By then, she could not even see 3 feet in front of her.
Well, her blood glucose level was so high they couldn't even get a reading. She was having a severe diabetic episode. She has never had high blood pressure, high cholesterol or high glucose before, so this is all new and scary for her. Her blood sugar was 600 -- you are supposed to call an ambulance at 400 and normal is 100. She's really lucky she didn't end up in a coma or dead.
At the ER, she was immediately admitted, and spent the next two days and nights there, getting stabilized, and having a number of expensive tests.
She was devastated to be missing Tark's memorial and one of her last nights with Babu.
Without insurance, this unexpected hospital stay, will be extreme. The estimate is over $25,000, and this is with the hospital cutting corners as much as possible, as they try to do for those without insurance. This does not include the costs of medicines she needs immediately, paying out of pocket, until she can sign up for insurance.
During previous crises, Lori has not asked for help and indeed, has trouble asking for help. So I'm asking you, friends, if you've ever had your dog loved up by Lori, if you've ever enjoyed an Infinite Productions show, if you've ever been scared about your health and had to face big changes, please help Lori with what will surely be a daunting stack of medical bills.
She will not be able to enroll for medical insurance until November and will not be covered until January, so the insulin costs, numerous doctor visits, eye doctor and glasses will continue to come out of pocket at astronomical prices. She's looking at about $1000 a month in costs. Lori being Lori, has not asked for handouts, and feels completely capable of managing this new illness with the same fierceness she brings to everything. But the cost of the hospital stay is slaying. Getting ahead of all the new costs to daily living is one thing, but getting out from under this huge bill at the same time, will make the road really rough. Even a donation of the admission price of a show will go such a long way. Can you pitch in, or share this today?
