Lori Dowdy's Liver Transplant

As many of you know my mom was diagnosed with liver disease about two years ago. This was a shock to me and my family because if you know my mom, you know that she has never had a drink in her life. Last year she began to show signs and was in and out of the hospital, and very symptomatic. The doctors then told us that she was going to need a liver transplant to prolong her life. This was scary to watch and I felt so helpless knowing that I couldn't help her get better. As soon as the doctors said that a living donor was an option for her, I knew that was God speaking to me and telling me that I was going to be able to help her get better after all. I have completed almost all of my testing and I am a perfect match for her. I have two more days of testing on July 20th and 21st at Henery Ford Hospital. I will have a biopsy of my liver and the results will be the deciding factor if we can go through with the transplant or not. Even though I am willing and have/ am being tested she can still get a call any day saying that they have a liver from a cadaver and it's a match! Our family doesn't like to ask for anything, but during this time we are asking you to show your support in any way that you can. The surgery, appointments, and tests along with all her medications are adding up. Please no pressure to donate but if you feel God laying it on your heart we would appreciate it more than you can imagine. We also ask that you keep my mom in your prayers as she continues to battle this disease. God Bless you all!
