Lorain County for Bernie Sanders consists of myself (Alan Pugh), Mary, Leesa, Celeste, Dale, Gayle, and dozens of other grassroots organizers working on a volunteer basis to support Bernie Sanders for president in 2016.
As momentum picks up in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination, an organizing office in downtown Elyria would serve as a phone banking venue, organizing and training space, and recruitment center for grassroots volunteers for the Bernie Sanders campaign.
Much like the office in Lakewood, this office would be staffed daily by Bernie Sanders volunteers. Regular events would be held to recruit and train new volunteers, coordinate canvassing efforts around the county, and provide a one-stop shop for local media and those seeking information on the candidate.
We are looking to gather funds for the first two months' rent and internet service. Once the location is up and running, local fundraisers and volunteer contributions will sustain us through the November election. We would like to open the office as soon as possible so that we can get to work!
Bernie Sanders is our candidate for a wide variety of reasons, from his efforts to get money out of politics to his views on investing in our people. We pledge to do everything we can to deliver Lorain County to Bernie in both March and November. Your contribution to this effort would be a contribution toward a better nation. As Sanders often says, when we work together, there is nothing we cannot accomplish.
