I've trained with my incredible singing teacher Phaedra since the age of 10 and she has helped me enormously. Phaedra has put me through my singing exams - achieving a Distinction in my latest LCM Grade 8 exam - and profusely prepared me for every singing job or audition I have been offered. Particularly through school and sixth form, performing remained a hobby and was going to stay that way, until I started landing amazing Musical Theatre parts with a local amateur-dramatics society and then at University.
Performing as a hobby was only ever going to progress into teaching the arts and performing non-professionally through enjoyment; My confidence stopped me from thinking I was capable of anything else and truthfully it seemed a lot of work and money when I wasn't completely sure of myself.
After playing Cosette in Les Miserables, Maria in West Side Story and Florence in Chess whilst studying a BA Hons in Musical Theatre at University of Wolverhampton, I finally found the confidence to apply to a drama school again. My lecturer set an audition up rather spontaneously for Associated Studios and nervously I attended; Unbelievably the CEO of the school (and a well-known professional within the industry) wanted me to attend their school and saw potential in me. The course is around 10,000 for the year and my Mom and auntie are going to work hard to pay monthly instalments, but I also need to afford to live in London!
I work hard for everything I do however, this is a one year intensive training course and I will have little time to work alongside this diploma. Due to this reason, I have set up this little page so if any of my friends want to donate a little something - even if it is one trip on the underground - I'd be very grateful! The money will go to travelling in London and potentially helping my family pay for the course :)
