As many of you know, LolaBean Yarn Company reached a point in its growth earlier this year that required it to move out of the family kitchen and into its own space. As this move was happening, and during the course of 2018, the universe has not been kind to our family and we have faced some extraordinary difficulties. Despite this we have soldiered on and continued to dye yarn, establish a new studio space and work hard for both our present and future needs.
Recently it was discovered that our new dye studio space will need some additional capital investments if we want to continue to use it. The excessive humidity created during the dye process is overloading our HVAC system, which also serves our home, and causing leakage that can’t continue without structurally damaging our family home.
Our options are to add a ventilation system to the space, or switch the equipment we use during our processes to produce less humidity. Since it is unlikely we will remain in this space forever, we feel new equipment that can move with us is the most economical and feasible solution.
Because of the nature of the damage being caused to our home, we have a limited timeframe to complete the necessary changes, or I will have to stop dying yarn until a solution is found. We’ve created this gofundme campaign to raise the necessary capital to complete the conversion.
