Logan's Peace Park Splash Pad

Sweet, precious, Logan was 4 years, 4 months and 4 days on September 23, 2008 when the decision to remove life support was made and he departed to Heaven. Before he went – he gave the gift of life through donation. My son had earned pool time after having a good day at preschool. This was the first time Logan and his brother had been left alone in the care of the nanny.  I was away from the house for less than 30  minutes.  Upon returning I found my seven year old son distraught on the driveway. He cried out that Logan wasn't breathing. Logan had been pulled out of the water , but the nanny had not started CPR. It is unknown how long Logan had been in the water. I began CPR before the EMS arrived ; Logan was then taken to the hospital and life-flighted to the Children's Hospital in Omaha, where he was found to have suffered brain death and removed from life support. Logan donated the gift of life to several people.

The goal of Logan’s Peace Park Splash Pad is to provide a safe place for children and adults to enjoy water activities in a safe environment to minimize the risk of drowning or water injury.  The hope is to build an interactive splash pad that will also serve as a memorial for families that have suffered a loss due to drowning or other water related injuries.  The dream of our organization is to have not just one facility but to create these memorial parks for communities across the Midwest.

We hope to unite parents/siblings/grandparents and all those that have suffered a loss due to drowning, near drowning or complications resulting from water immersion.
