Locs For Mom

Seven years ago I started growing my locs. During my journey I started to feel like it was no longer a symbol of a friend who had passed but I was growing them for a greater reason. For the past ten years my mother has been battling breast cancer that has progressed to stage four. This means that she is on a long term treatment plan which has effected her hair’s ability to grow so she will never grow a full head of hair again. A few weeks ago she mentioned that she would love to have a wig made with some of my locs to keep her warm without a hat this winter. Well of course it’s my pleasure to make her dream come true and donate my hair!! A wonderful, talented lady I connected with is excited to start the process of making my mother her very own wig with some inches of my locs.
