Lochgilphead Celts & Picts Festival

Donation protected
The Lochgilphead Celtic and Pictish Festival on Saturday 4th August 2018, is an interactive family day where visitors can get a taste of what life was like for those who came before us.   As well as battle re-enactments and weapons demonstrations there will be various living history demonstrations and workshops where adults and children can try their hand at traditional crafts such as spinning, weaving, stone carving, woodwork, dressing up and blowing a celtic war horn.  Also this year there will be a performance and talk by Patrick Kenny of Carnyx and Co on the traditional Celtic musical instrument the Carnyx.

Having such hands on access to our heritage provides a unique opportunity for people of all ages to learn and hopefully be inspired all while having a great day out.  This is an important event culturally but also to support the local community and economy by bringing extra visitors to the town.  In order to keep the event accessible to all budgets, we rely heavily on fund-raising and if this campaign is successful, it will ensure that we can offer the full program of events which we have planned for the day to fully establish this festival as the important celebration of our heritage that it should be which, in turn will make funding next year's event much easier as we continue to grow and improve.  Any donations you can give will be most appreciated.
