WHO
My name is LJ Mounteney. I am a singer from Vancouver BC and I’m in the process of finishing my first solo cd. Welcome to my Go Fund Me page!
WHY
I’ve done a lot of live vocal work in the Lower Mainland over the years and I felt now was the right time to get something recorded.
With the help of my guitar player friend, Jon Roper, we put together an incredible band which comprises some of Vancouver’s finest talent. The songs were all recorded at Studio Down Under in Abbotsford, a studio that won 2014 and 2015 BCCMA's studio of the year. Additionally I will have the assistance of award winning designers Le Doucet Design helping with the eye candy at the end. I’ll be posting more info about the final mixing sessions, links to samples and info on the band (and more) as the campaign unfolds.
The goal of this disc will be to sell at gigs as well as hand out to prospective booking agents and clients for bookings etc. so your help with this is greatly appreciated!!
WHAT
The album features many of my favourite songs that I have performed on gigs over the years. Well known songs by some of the best composers in the world — Billy Joel, Burt Bacharach, Van Morrison, and more. It has been a challenge and an honour to sing this material which varies from sultry jazz, to funk to blues, pop and even includes a Samba and a spiritual! In some cases we have kept close to the original composition and other tunes we have completely rearranged. There is something for everyone on this cd! I’m even going to rap! ha!

I have 75% of the project completed (approx $7000) and paid for already - I am looking for your help (in the form of pre-sales of physical cds or downloads) to help me finish the final bits - which are: keeper vocals, mixing, mastering, graphics and printing. My goal is to raise $1,800 (or more) and I will be running this campaign until August 15th with all perks delivered by that date.
GOOD VIBES
Lastly, I have experienced so very much in the past couple of years in the way of good vibes, that I am donating 10% of all monies collected from this campaign to my favourite charity - VOKRA (Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association). This is a wonderful organization that finds foster homes for felines - and therefore each kitty gets individualized care. AND if i raise more than my set goal of $1,800 I will donate 20% of those additional funds back to VOKRA. (Thank you for all that you do VOKRA!)
