#CelebrateLifeWithLizzie

Hello dear friend, meet Lizzie.

She is an entrepreneur, wellness consultant for corporate clients, a single mom of two adorable teenagers and three-time cancer survivor.

A mini documentary will be made of the whole journey. For all those donating $25 or more, your name will appear in the credits of this video as a sign of Lizzie's gratitude.

This Crowd-Funding project has been set up to help Lizzie beat the odds of cancer and at the same time, help others find clinics that WORK around the World!

As a single mother of 2 teenagers, Lizzie was diagnosed with a massive tumour (130mm x 110mm) which had spread to the lymphatic system.  She was determined not to leave her children without a mother and decided to study the things that “survivors against the odds” did  .......and then she copied them!  For 7 years, Lizzie has managed single-handedly to defy these odds (she was given a 7% survival chance) by selling her house and living and paying for treatments from the proceeds.  During this time the cancer has spread on two occasions and Lizzie once again, on a constant quest for a solution, beat the odds both times – trying some incredible and often unusual treatments around the World!  More about this in the forthcoming blogs.

Unfortunately, the cancer recently returned vigorously. Just when we thought we were out of options, we were told of a new drug (Palbociclib/Ibrance in USA) trial and that Lizzie fits ALL the criteria and had been accepted.

However, the day before Lizzie was to start the new drug, they called to say they had made a mistake and that Lizzie was no longer eligible. For Lizzie “it was like drowning in a rough ocean and being sent a safety float, but when she was pulled in, someone put a foot on her head and pushed her back under”.

So now, Lizzie spends every 2nd day of her life being drained of ascites and refilled with fluids - each treatment day is 9 hours long.  Her day starts with a beautiful nurse coming to put in a needle into a port and leaves her for 4 hours, whereupon she loses approx 4 litres of fluid.  The nurse returns and then a friend takes her to hospital to have Intravenous fluids for the rest of the day.  It doesn't tickle.  She is making a video about this - we will load it very soon....

There have been times recently where morphine doesn't touch the edges of the pain Lizzie has been in. The palliative care team were wanting to clarify just a couple of weeks ago, whether we were planning end of life care or pain management......... or both - Lizzie opted for "Pain Management"!  She has deepened her meditation practice to meditate through the boundaries of this pain.... sometmes for more than 13 hours at a time - it's exhausting!

But there IS another life raft available – and that is to have a treatment in Germany at Mistletoe Centre. These treatments have worked for thousands of others, who fortunately have been able to afford it, and with your help Lizzie can do the same.

The proposed treatment plan:
Mistletoe Centre in Germany – 7 weeks

How do we know she can do it?
If anyone can, Lizzie can!  Not only has she run a successful international business in the past, at the same time as raising two children single-handedly, but she’s full of the most incredible background from skydiving and wing-walking to winning the first trophy for Australia in backgammon at the World Series in Monte Carlo (the week she was diagnosed).

Since diagnosis, Lizzie has been researching and studying full-time.  She quit her executive city life as a project manager and dived headfirst into the infinite world of cancer.  She has documented the 7 most common traits of other cancer survivors in her soon to be published book “7 Habits of Amazing Cancer Survivors”.  She changed her life upside-down, and when it became apparent that the NUMBER ONE thing all amazing survivors had in common, was that they ALL took meditation seriously, Lizzie decided to study, and became a yoga teacher.

She now assists her oncologist by running meditation sessions at Manly Hospital on occasions, along with specialising in consultations and coaching for those going through cancer.  Lizzie has an incredible zest for life, an effervescent personality, she is loved by all those who are lucky enough to cross her path and we believe it is CRUCIAL that we help her to overcome this, at least so she can finish her book, which will benefit everyone!  At the same time, this will provide a fascinating, documented journey into the insides of a state of the art cancer clinic, for all those who support, regardless of how much or how little.

This is real-time research - Lizzie has spent 7 years in chemo, radiation, constant medical therapies and numerous operations, as well traditional and alternative therapies.  She is now at the "Last Stop Saloon" and is limited by the regulations in Australia, which do not have the research monetary capability that Europe and the USA are able to allocate to establish good result research therapies, which are evidence-based, but probably will not be verified via the TGA for many years.  An example is "Palbociclib" - a drug that is allowed in USA (Ibrance), that would almost certainly help her, but is not allowed in Australia for her.

If you feel compelled to keep yourself healthy, if you or someone you know has a cancer, choose one of the prizes below and donate for Lizzie! She is a cancer survival champion and she proves that anything is possible. :)

Thank you everyone for considering this awesome cause – we are ready to put Lizzie on a plane towards her life-raft as soon as the target has been met!
