Attention!!  our dear friend Liza Sims is in desperate need of our help. She has lost everything in the fires which have just broken out and engulfed several small towns near Chico California. Liza and her mother have just literally fled for their lives and have both lost their homes.  They are at this moment trying to find shelter for herself, her mother and an entire assortment of tiny animals. Liza moved from Anchorage Alaska about 3 years ago to help her 95 year old mother whose husband had passed away. Liza was and is one of my life mentors. She has been an li Pigment distributor for about 12 years and has been a Lifetime Member of the Society of Permanent Cosmetics Professionals. Please add to this donation. Anything is appreciated. She has lost her sole source of income, her house, everything!! She must literally rebuild everything from scratch.

By Liza's description, Chico sounds like a post-apocalyptic nuclear war science fiction movie. Unable to escape with the first evacuation crew she was freezing the first night. There was no sun warmth getting through the smoke. We have not spoken much as she needs to stay possitive and linear in her efforts to improve her situation and get her and her pets stabilized. Edna had been taken to family in Reno for now and is safe.
At first, it was a struggle and a scramble to find the essentials like socks, head protection, gloves, and a coat for her and her mom as she was unable to get out of the fire with anything like that. Her car has suffered significant damage from driving through the flames and over burning asphalt to escape down the mountain from Paradise. The tread of the tires was melted, the windshield wiper rubber was destroyed, the left rear turn signal lens melted and the directional light needs to be replaced . In an effort to grab what she could from her home she took a shopping cart from the store parking lot nearby and use that to run back and forth between her house before it was destroyed in flames. She was unable to gather and secure 3 sibling kittens, who have parished. The guilt and sadness haunts her. They were late to evacuate so had to seek shelter in a church the first night. Liza had fallen a couple of times scrambling to grab essentials for her and her mother and in one fall must have hit her mouth on the shopping cart handle and has broken a tooth as a result, she will need to seek dental attention for this as soon as she can secure a new place to stay. Her escape the following day was unbelievable. Everyone had already gone the night before and she made her escape with her 90+ year old mother in total blackness guided by the light of the fires.
At this point money and gift cards would be the most helpful. You can send money directly to her PayPal account (contact me for the link) or through this donation link. Lodging, food, and gas are her greatest needs.
Please help with whatever you can. It is completely overwhelming. Thank you if you have already donated. Please feel free to share as well.
