My dear, sweet friend, my soul mate in music, my spiritual sister, Windham Hill artist and 3-time Grammy Awards nominee, Liz Story  is in the hospital today having emergency brain surgery. For those of you who attended our concert at the Musical Instrument Museum - MIM  in Phoenix, Arizona on Friday night, you might have noticed that her performance was a little "strange." It was. Pete and I decided that her behavior indicated that there was something really, terribly wrong and drove her to Prescott, Arizona (where she lives) and took her to the emergency room there at the suggestion of her doctor. Liz doesn't drink or do drugs, so the way she was acting was really out of character. She was the CONSUMATE PROFESSIONAL by getting up on that stage AT ALL that night with TWO subdural hematomas pressing on both sides of her brain.

Liz’s husband died a few years ago due to complications from injuries he sustained after being struck in a rear-end collision.

Liz then selflessly left her home and music studio in Prescott, AZ for 6 years, to single-handedly care for her parents in Los Angeles, both of whom suffered from dementia, and who passed in their late 90s.

Liz has never financially recovered from the loss of her husband and subsequent debt, and from her absence from her work, in order to care for her parents. She really could use all the help she could possibly have!

As is true for many musicians, she has no health insurance; and, her home became severely run down in her absence; she hasn’t been in a position, financially, to repair the plumbing, broken refrigerator and various other major problems. She paid a contractor thousands to work on her house while she was in Los Angeles caring for her parents, only to find shoddy, sub-standard work when she returned.

If you can find it in your hearts to help, no donation is too great, or too small. We've created a Facebook Fundraising  page in addition to this Go Fund Me page in order to accommodate everyone's personal preferences.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for your generosity.

FINAL LIZ STORY GO FUND ME UPDATE: It's time to close the GoFundMe campaign for the Liz Story Medical Fundraiser. I am so appreciative of every single person who shared their financial and/or emotional support and I know that Liz is incredibly grateful, too. We were able to raise enough funds to help her in her physical recovery. Words can't begin to express my appreciation to you all, but I'll say it again -- Thank you!!

FINAL LIZ STORY GO FUND ME UPDATE: It's time for me to close the GoFundMe campaign for the Liz Story Medical Fundraiser. I am so grateful for every single person who shared their financial and/or emotional support and I know that Liz is incredibly grateful, too. We were able to raise enough funds to repair her home so she now has a safe place to live. The roof won't leak anymore, the plumbing won't leak anymore, she has a working refrigerator, and the ceiling has new drywall. There is still much repair work to be done and a lot of physical therapies, but Liz is really doing amazingly well!! She has a positive attitude and all of us here at "Team Liz" are deeply thankful for everything her fans, friends and family have done since the emergency brain surgeries in June. I am so very fortunate to be part of this beautiful tribe we all belong to -- words can't begin to express how I feel, but I'll say it again anyway, Thank You all...

LIZ STORY UPDATE: Liz is FINALLY HOME!! She arrived home last night with her wonderful friend, "Driver", by her side. Pete Foster was at her house to greet her and show her the amazing progress on repairs to her home, thanks to YOUR generous donations!! Liz still has a long road ahead on the path to full recovery and still needs our financial help for Physical Therapy and our emotional and spiritual support. She'll be starting outpatient physical rehab on Monday.

I wanted to share some of my favorite candid pictures of being on the road with Liz Story for the past 12 years -- what beautiful memories of my wildest dreams -- sharing the concert stage with my musical hero!

PLEASE continue to SHARE and DONATE to this Go Fund Me page!
