Liverpool Marathon for Team O

Tax deductible
This is my first marathon and I decided I wanted to do it for a cause for the added motivation and to prevent myself from backing out of it. I believe that the Liverpool marathon is really tough (as marathons go) due to Liverpool being a rather 'hilly' city, but I wanted to run my first marathon in my home town and it was only fitting to select a charity based in my home town too.

Team Oasis is a charity ran two of my friends parents, as well as them selves and the rest of their family and it provides activities and projects for children and young adults that aren't available everywhere and encourages them to get involved. Team Oasis provides, for example, being taught music, singing, dancing and generally performance, which at a young age is brilliant for self confidence, as well as this they go on holidays and days out, have an after school club in their youth centre in Aigburth and they have an aim to establish a Team Oasis centre in Spain which is an excellent goal! Being a student of Drama, how Team Oasis aims to get young people involved from a young age in all performing arts, I find inspiring and it sets them apart from other organisations.

I never imagined I would be able to run a half marathon never mind a full one, as those who know me best would agree, I've never been much of a athlete/runner, but I'm a young able bodied fella, so what in the world would stop me from running a marathon?! And running it for a brilliant cause such as Team Oasis will only bring me a heart-full of joy once I cross that finish line!
