We at Little Wanderers want to help the homeless cats and kittens of New York City find their way back home. Whether it is to trap/neuter and return (TNR) feral cats back home so there are no more kittens born to suffering on the street; or to find warm and loving homes for kittens, ill, or abandoned friendly cats who need a family they can call thier own. We also rescue the occasional dog, bird, rabbit, or even turtle!
We are a tiny group and have TNR'd or rescued nearly 500 cats in 2015 alone, and thousands over the decades. We don't take "no" for an answer, and will go to great lengths to save the most wretched life- or to usher a cat who is too far gone to a loving and dignified death.
We concentrate on the most inaccesible and desperate areas of NYC- mostly the South Bronx and the abandoned buildings and lots of Harlem-and that is saying something- where most rescuers will refuse to go. We can't do this without your help, it's as simple as that. Our veterinary bills are staggering, because we dont stop rescuing.
We are just regular people with full time jobs and families, volunteering our time and efforts by doing what we can. Please help us to help them, and to continue on with the souls who most deserve help from all of us.
