Little Miss Ivy
What can i say about Little Miss Ivy. She is sweet, full of smiles, has the greatest cheeks and loves her family with every inch of her heart.
With all of this She is fighting the good fight!! She is stronger then anyone I have ever known.
Our Miss Ivy was diagnosed with Leukemia a few months ago and has been fighting ever since. Her family has had to drop everything and be by her side to help her in this battle. You see Ivy is only two years old and has down syndrome which make this battle just a little more difficult. Her prognosis overall is good, but never the less she is fighting a battle of a lifetime. At 2 years old she has shown strength of 1000 Grown Men.
This sweet little girl is the daughter of my great friends Melissa and BJ and the little sister of Mr. Finnigan. I have known Melissa and her family most of my life and am proud to say I am a honourary part of the family. As a best friend I feel it right to ask for assistance where this humble and loving family never would.
Ivy is a fighter, but the emotional and financial toll of this fight on this amazing family has become bigger then one could imagine.
Thank god we live in a country where medical bills are covered but what you don't see is the finanical life drain an unexpected battle like childhood cancer can cause. Bills keep coming in, groceries need to be bought, and houses break down around you. This is added stress no family in this situation shoud have to worry about.
When you need to be by your childs side it is hard to keep it all together. It is important that Ivy have the best of her family during her battle and it is not fair to anyone that any ounce of her family should be distracted with financial stress.
So as the best friend to the strongest and most humble mother in the world I will ask what she never would... for some help. This family needs some financial help. they are having a rough go at the moment. Systems are not quick or realiable in this world and bills are starting to catch up. this is the last thing this family needs to think about!
So I ask please help to show this little girl and her family some support. If for a second you ever thought I wish I could help someone in need here is your opportunity. If you know the family and have been sitting around like me thinking I wish I could do something to help, to fix this. well this is it. $5 or $1000 it doesn't matter every nickel will help.
This funding will go to nessecities of life. To pay the bills while they are in the hospital etc.
It has sat on my heart the erge to help this family as they would do the same to anyone they love. So please help them so they can help little Ivy and continue to be the strong and loving family they are.
All my love and Prayers
Here is an update for you all. Our sweet girl thankfully was feeling good this weekend. good enough I GOT TO VISIT and of course squish her and her brother!!! So i'm posting some smiling pic from this weekend and visits with friends. I do however need to mention feeling good and having a good weekend is not without it's difficulties. There is nothing like seeing a sweet girl you love being tube fed and poked many times and timers set for feeds and meds and ALL THE ORGANIZATION and of course HAND SANITIZER required for the GOOD days. This battle is insane for this family. Ivy's Parents deserve a medical degree at the end of this crazy battle. Ivy is the sweetest and strongest little muffin I have ever met. Her wonderful brother is so strong and supportive of her and has more love and compassion then i even knew a 5 year old could have. Finnigan never asks for much (just to go to his favorite place which of course is IKEA) and deserves a medal of kindness, patience and love. This family is strong but only with the help of loved ones. So i ask again in this battle of you feel it in your heart to help a donation is a sure fire way to support our Ivy and her family. Good days do not end the battle it's still a battle each and every day. With that said here are some great pictures of the weekend.
The wonderful Kiddle/ McCoy family has extended. What the help and support of family they were final able to reach a dream of adding to their family. I would like to introduce you all to Hazel the beagle. As some of you might know it has been a dream for this family to have a dog for quite sometime. the diagnosis for Ivy has put this dream on hold. Finnegan got to meet his new fur sister and Ivy has met her on face time as she is in the hospital yet again. This journey to Hazel has been tough as she has had to stay with family for a bit as Ivy's round of treatment took a bit of a turn making logistics hard on the family. I'm so happy to see that friends and Family can rally around this family to help reach goals when daily activities and functions can seem impossible. Hazel will be a great ray of sunshine in a journey that can often be filled with darkness and therefore Hazel will be invaluable. As well what a blessing for Ivy and Finnegan that have friends and family help them achieve a great life goal. A special thank you to Melissa's parents Bill and Dianne for helping to make Hazel happen. I personally am so thankful she is here to add support and love to this family.
There is still many months of treatment ahead to ensure a happy healthy Ivy.
As we know nothing is free in this world. Unfortunately the battle of fighting childhood cancer is costly.
Time away from work, gas, food, bills etc. all still applies when a families life is on hold to fight cancer. Help me in supporting this family to make the battle of a life time just a little easier.
The last thing they need to be thinking about and wasting brain space on is money and finances. What matters is Ivy and the wellness of not only Ivy but her sweet brother Finnigan and of course Mom and Dad.
So I ask again as they never would. Lets Beat the goal. We did it twice lets do it again!!!!
