We just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for their support of Little Sweep's Fund over the last weeks and months, and especially of little Honey who has fought such a brave fight and overcome immense hurdles to hopefully be toddling off to her new home (until weaning) tomorrow.

The stark reality is that this will happen again but the more we have in the Fund as a 'reserve' the easier it is for us to say 'yes' when presented with dilemmas such as the one Honey presented just a few nights ago.

We have also generated some great coverage recently that serves to highlight the issue and may also awaken in some people the desire to home a little rescue one day, if that happens then we can be truly delighted.

We have had pieces in Kentonline, Horse & Hound, ITV Meridian and hopefully we may have a story in the Daily Mail at the weekend (tbc). With this in mind we have increased the fund total to take account of the resurgence of interest and peoples' wish to be involved and help ponies and foals in the future.

If you can donate then please do, if you have fundraising ideas then please let us know.

Little Sweep's Fund - Honey, hours old and dumped to die on the hottest day of the year

This little filly, now named Honey, was dumped over a fence and found trying to seek comfort and solace with some horses at the next door livery yard. No mother or owner was in sight. She is weak, dehydrated and exhausted. We are rushing her to Bell Equine where they will evaluate and give us a full update as to her condition.
If you can afford to donate an amount, however small, we would be very grateful indeed. In the meantime we will keep you updated.

Honey update:

Dear All

Thank you so much for all of your donations, we have reached the target and we don't think the current vet bill will go beyond that amount, assuming she makes progress as she has.

If you would like to continue to donate then we will leave that option open. We can guarantee that there will be others where having an emergency fund to call upon is invaluable when making decisions on as to whether to treat or pts, a decision that is often based on cost and one that we faced last night with Honey.

All funds are open and transparent and only go towards the urgent medical care and after care needed. We also use the fund to microchip, passport, vaccinate and neuter (colts). No staff are paid and everyone works on a voluntary basis.

Thank you a million times from Honey, hopefully there will be a happy foster mare update this afternoon xx ❤

Love to you all xxx

We also have a bank acc please message for details.

Donations can also be paid direct to Bell Equine. Please contact them Monday to Friday and ask to pay for Honey's account, quoting my name

Everyone pulled together, no one gave up on her and she didn't give up either.
I'm overwhelmed by people's kindness, each and everyone that donated, hoped, prayed, shared and cared. When someone asks you what you did last night, you can say you saved a life. That's something very special to carry around with you ❤

She will need to stay in hospital to ensure there are no further complications and we have a lovely offer of a foster mare that we will try to get organised. Thank you so much for all your donations, we have increased the fund amount because £3k was just to this morning and her final tally will probably be closer to £5k realistically.

We’re really angry. Livid. So livid.
Honey is fighting for her life. Why? Dehydration.
These assholes that left her in a field could have knocked on any door rather than dump her, but no, they didn't and it makes our blood boil!

It's pickled her kidney function and the vets think her body may have just taken too much if a hammering today She already stopped breathing once (half an hour ago). The vets brought her back, but she is now in intensive care.

Honey is now critically ill and needing 24hr monitoring. They have got foals back from this level before but it costs an absolute bomb and there are no guarantees.... that said, the vet just called me back again and said she's such a fighter and has just sat up and drunk another bowl of milk after having been clinically dead an hour ago.

So, what do we do folks? I feel we give her the chance that these idiots never allowed her, but that will mean a bill of £3k by morning.

Are you with us? Will you help? Please? Even a fiver or a couple of quid.
