Little Kash's Fight to go Home
Donation protected
Kash was born on June 6, 2017 with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome ( the left part of his heart did not fully develop). He spent his first 84 days in Children's Hospital in Omaha, and had 2 open heart surgeries during that stay. He finally got to go home for 5 months and went back for a scheduled open heart surgery on March 15, 2018 - this surgery was not successful. Another surgery was done after that where he received a BT shunt in his heart. His lungs were not fully ready for the shunt surgery and has since been in respiratory failure. October 2018 he received a trach and put on ventilator. After all the stress to his body, they received notice that he was accepted to the heart transplant program. 19 days later the family receive the call there was a heart available for Kash. He got his new heart on Nov 25, 2018 and is still at Children's Hospital in ICU due to the respiratory failure and has just been diagnosed with pneumonia of both lungs. This little guy is a fighter!
Amidst all the surgeries and hospital stay, their lives continue to move forward one day at a time. Lacey and Aaron, parents of Kash, full well knowing when their little fighter gets ready to leave the hospital, will need to be in a contaminant free home big enough to house his medical equipment, began looking for and found a home that would meet all their needs, plus it is a home closer to family. They began looking for a bank who could look past the one income family and see how hard they are working to make things right. This is not an easy task to accomplish. And like they didn't already have enough going on in their lives, they just got the news that their current residence has sold and continue to wait to get approval to purchase this new home.
The hospital stay has been a stress on the family income as Lacey stays in Omaha with Kash on a continual basis while Aaron goes back and forth from working in Overton during the week to Omaha on the weekends.
Aaron and Lacey work hard and they have not asked for anything but continued prayers to keep Kash strong throughout this. They need our help! We cannot do all the good that their world needs, but their world needs all the good that We can do!
“Love is not patronizing and charity isn't about pity, it is about love. Charity and love are the same -- with charity you give love, so don't just give money but reach out your hand instead.”
