THE STORYLew Soloff was a world class trumpeter and a dear friend. He was a real champion of my writing and arranging, and used to say, "Just GET IT OUT THERE, Lisa!" He lived for music, and gave so much quality music to so many. For years, we had planned to make an album together, but never did. When he passed away in 2015, I realized the time is now. I had written many arrangements for other people over the years, and had orchestrated music for Warner Bros., and decided it was time to put out an album of my own material. I assembled a host of New York's top musicians, and decided to dedicate the album to Lew. Many of the players are also members of the Gil Evans Orchestra, where Lew led the trumpet section. Gil's son, Noah Evans, is the recording engineer. Hearing my arrangements and compositions being performed by these musicians is a dream come true. I'm proud to call them my friends, and my jazz family! Please join us on this exciting journey by supporting the project.
