Help me study in New Zealand!

Donation protected
Dear everyone,

My new chapter in life is soon starting: New Zealand!!!!!! For some of you this story will feel like one you know by heart, but for the purpose of this project I would like to kindly ask you to bear with me :) After living on three different continents and six different countries I have decided to discover a new one. I have been raised bilingually and was quadrilingual by the age of six and intend to continue exploring the cultural diversities I was brought up with. Travelling is in my blood and I have wanted to go to New Zealand to study for four years now.

As an extremely ambitious, down to earth and outgoing girl I have decided to pursue my dream. It is not the easiest option I could have opted for but after carefully considering the pro’s & con’s and after talking to several people who have advised me in so many ways, I have come to the conclusion that this is really what I need to do and that it is the right option for me.

I think this experience will not only contribute to my maturity, but it will help me understand the people that live in this world even better. While I am studying in New Zealand I’d like to take time to explore the indigenous people and local cultures of Australasia and observe the way the Maori culture was protected and still thrives today. While it is also a very "western" and wealthy country: this might be something that can be used in other countries and situations (eg: Amazon in Brazil). I am convinced my Bachelor of Social Sciences with majors in Humand Development and Sociology will contribute to that .What I hope to achieve with this study is to eventually work for Amnesty International or Human Rights Watch and contribute to a better world. I believe that the slightest changes matter which is what I will strive for.

This choice comes at a price for which I have been working and saving for the last few years. Aided by savings for my study from parents and family I have funds for paying the university fees (for the first year at least). My student’s loan, parent’s contribution and working alongside my study should pay for my living expenses. However there are still loads of costs I have to cover and would be happy to have some financial help with :) Hereby some examples:

1.    Books and learning materials (aprox. €300 p. Semester)
2.    Furniture for my future room
3.    Health insurance (€360 p.year)
4.    Getting some of my personal belongings to NZ ( 1kg costs €5,57)

You could for example decide to help me out with 2kg of luggage or decide to contribute to a month of my insurance; any contribution would be of great help! Hopefully I will be able to compensate for it one day or another, but a couch to crash on is a guarantee ;)

Big thanks in advance, warm regards and big kisses!

Xoxo- Your globe trotter.
