Ballston Spa Lions Club Music Park At The Old Iron Spring Dedicated
On Saturday October 14th, the area around the Old Iron Spring on Front St in Ballston Spa was dedicated by the Ballston Spa Lions Club as the Ballston Spa Lions Club Music Park At The Old Iron Spring.

The Village of Ballston Spa and the Lions have been in discussion about establishing a legacy project to recognize the 100th Anniversary of Lions Club International and the 68 years the local club has served the needs of the community. Mayor John Romano (also a Lion and whose father was the first president of the club) felt the pavilion and area around the Old Iron Spring was underutilized and would be an ideal area for the club to use. The village board voted this summer to adopt the land as the Ballston Spa Lions Club Music Park At The Old Iron Spring.
On the 14th a brass plaque was unveiled on a large rock dedicating the area as the Lions Music Park At The Old Iron Spring. The plaque was donated by Lion and Past District Governor Manny Pena and Lion Don Lang donated and placed the rock.
The club’s vision for the park is to have a place for friends and families to gather and enjoy great music, stage shows, educational programs and the friendship of neighbors. The club’s goal is to have 5 – 8 FREE events per season starting in 2018 for the community to enjoy. These free concerts would be in addition to the concerts currently held in Wiswall Park on Thursdays during the summer. The park will continue to be available for others to use.
The club’s will continue to help meet the needs of the community by purchasing eyeglasses, hearing aids and cataract surgeries for those that cannot afford them, sponsoring youth programs and many other programs.
