Disability Essentials For My Boys

$1,250 of $20,000 goal

Raised by 11 people in 53 months
My two sons have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Autism (and asthma, and a few other things).  I also have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Autism (and about 20 other things lol).  I use a wheelchair when we leave the house, and due to Dysautonomia, and constant subluxations (partial dislocations), I am in need of a full time carer (my husband, who thus can not work - we fully rely on goverment payments for income).

We have struggled for years, and could really use some help. Thank you!!!

Thank you for anything you can spare to help our family.

A good friend has just reminded me about this account. I don't like asking for money and I especially hate this type of begging for it, but here I am.

So much has happened since my campaign started - we have moved, the kids are back in school, I'm actually leaving the house approximately once a week... These have all been great things, but still, money is a huge issue for us, and always will be.

Nicky has started acting lessons - the first thing he has ever shown an interest in that doesn't involve a screen! Unfortunately lessons cost about $1000 a year.

And school!!! When homeschooling, we received funding from the government. That funding has stopped, but school is costing us thousands more a year than homeschooling did.

Our medical expenses are ever increasing - again we have referrals sitting here waiting for the money to pay the travel expenses and gap fees to actually see the specialists we need to see. This is also our biennial testing year... Hearts and eyes and other things need a check up and the travel and gap fees can get expensive here too...

It's just all too much trying to do all this on the pension. I'd love to work, and my husband and I are actually working on a long term plan that will hopefully lead to some, but given everything, it's more probable that our idea will simply end up a hobby...

So here I am. Wishing I could close this account but knowing I can't for the sake of my kids. I love my dream world, but I have to live in this one.

If you can help, thank you so much. And if you can't, but you send best wishes and Internet chocolate, thank you for that too!!! :-)
Q has been sick all week, and has spent the week on the lounge next to me.

Thanks to your support, last night I bought a harness for our support workers to use with the boys when they go climbing. The boys and their father already have harnesses. This will cut our costs each week as we will not have to rent one.

We will also be signing the boys up as members ($59 each), so that instead of paying $15 each per session ($30 a week each), we will pay $16 a week membership (saving us $14 a week... each!)
Harness Receipt with address removed.

We have bought some travel Lego with easy instructions that Quinn can do on his own... I also bought some extra sets so that we can swap it around a bit... He has never played with Lego this much in his life!!! It is working really well. Plus with the travel cases, we can easily take it anywhere!

I'd just like to again thank everyone who has shared this fund, and those who have contributed. By sharing, you not only obviously ensure more potential doners will see and donate, but you also help give me a sense of belonging - of not being alone. That same sense occurs when someone donates, along with an added sense of relief - each donation means less money needs to come out of our grocery budget...

We are all here for my kids - and I love you all for loving them! But you are also helping me. And I love you all for that too! Thank you!
