Help Support A Local Ballerina

Donation protected
Hi my name is Lily and I have been a ballet dancer since I was 2. I moved to a pre-professional ballet studio in 2014 and focused on Balanchine training...which I love!

I am raising money to (hopefully) go away to a summer dance program at a top ballet company for the summer of 2018. The costs are expensive with the ballet training, room and board, as well as flights and travel costs. Not to mention pointe shoes!!

We live in a small beach town in Southern California. My dad is an electrical contractor and my mom stays at home to care for me and my brother...mostly to taxi me to ballet which is 35 miles each way from our house 6 days a week. (Thx mom!)

My dream is to become a professional dancer. I have great teachers at my home studio (retired professionals from NYCB, Cleveland Ballet and PNB) but I know the importance of going away for training at a professional company in the summer.

Last January, I auditioned for 3 ballet companies, School of American Ballet in NY, Miami City Ballet, and The Jillana School. I was accepted to all 3 with a partial scholarship to The Jillana School in Taos Ski Valley, NM. I was lucky enough to attend The Jillana School and loved it! I took classes lead by Jock Soto and Jillana (both retired principals from NYCB) as well as Katie Martin from Ballet San Antonio. I learned so much last summer and my technique and artistry improved so much! I am continuing to build on what I learned at my home studio during the fall/winter term, and excited for auditions coming up in January.

The intensives usually start in late June or the beginning of July, with deposit money required by early March.
It would be a great opportunity to learn from top ballet masters/mistresses but an opportunity that I would definitely need help with financially to achieve. I am training and working hard to hopefully be recognized for a merit scholarship but that's not a guarantee. I am doing my best to raise money on my own with babysitting, lemonade stands, bake sales and making hair accessories. I have made almost $500 but I am still a long way from my goal.

So I am asking you to please help in any way possible to help me on my journey to becoming a professional ballet dancer! ❥ #everydollarhelps
