Lifting PAMELA Over The Mountain

OUR JOURNEY

As many of our friends and family know, Pamela Lagergren Williams is a 10-year survivor of ovarian cancer. Recently, Pam has been diagnosed with active tumors, which, thankfully, are located in or near her abdominal wall and are not involved with any bones or organs.

Pam was originally diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer 10 years ago and underwent chemotherapy and extensive surgery.

Three years ago there was a relapse and another round of chemo was administered along with the removal of two relatively small tumors near her abdominal wall.
Her recent diagnosis of several tumors was confirmed through tumor- marker testing, imaging, and getting a second opinion. Surgery is not planned at this time as it is not recognized as being helpful this time around.

Chemotherapy is the recommended protocol, consisting of 6 rounds at 3 week intervals. The first round in scheduled on Monday, June 12.

As many of you also know, Pam has, in the last 10 years, done extensive research regarding the disease and has, over the 10-year period, explored and incorporated alternative (alternative treatment other than radiation and chemotherapy) into her lifestyle. This approach has included 18 months on the Gerson Cancer Diet, natural medications, vitamins, supplements , and other self-administered protocols thought to make her body a hostile environment for cancer cells to live and thrive in. It was daunting proceeding in this arena without medical supervision, testing, and expert recommendations, and program modifications.

Thankfully, we have found a wonderful doctor, Dr. Ian Bier, who practices in Portsmouth, New Hampshire at his practice, Human Nature Natural Health. Dr. Bier specializes in treating cancer patients in general, and ovarian cancer patients in particular, through an individualized alternative-medicine (not radiation or chemo) approach. He is the only one in New England that we are aware of that uses this approach and is one of the leading experts in the field.

This individualized protocol, designed specifically for Pam, will include diet (ketogenic), treatment (including Cancer IV [vitamin C], hyperbaric oxygen, heated-immersion bath, infrared sauna, and magnetic acupuncture), natural medications, and supplements. Pam has researched for 10 years and finds Dr. Bier’s approach to contain everything she has found through research and more.  At this time, for numerous reasons, we feel comfortable undergoing this protocol under the supervision of a Dr. who can incorporate medical testing and include treatment not available to a non-medical person to self-administer.

OUR GOAL/ VISION/ DREAM

Pam’s (our) goal is to be healthy and live out the next 20-30 years of her life being a wife, mother, grandmother, professor, researcher, screenwriter, author, and mentor.
With humility and a thankful heart we ask for, and truly appreciate, financial help from our friends, family, and community members near and far to make needed medical treatment possible. Your generous assistance will lessen the financial burden brought on by the necessity of treatment not covered by our medical insurance and the paying deductibles of those treatments that are covered by insurance.

Please feel free to ask questions. To speak to us in person please request contact numbers.  I (we) am happy to answer any questions you might have to the best of my ability.
